Inherited a Setup That Is Not Right?
We fix Employment Hero configurations that were rushed the first time.
A large part of our work is rescue: a setup built in a hurry, the person who built it moves on, and the errors surface at the next pay run. We audit the configuration, correct it, and prove the fix against a parallel pay run before it reaches your employees.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why do I have duplicate employee accounts after the HR to payroll sync?
Duplicate employee accounts after an Employment Hero HR to payroll sync are almost always caused by an email mismatch at sync time. The employee's email in HR must match the email in payroll exactly, and the pay categories, leave categories and locations must already exist in payroll before you sync. When the email does not match, the sync creates a second payroll record. After correcting the email you also need to deactivate or merge the duplicate so pay and leave history stay on one record. Payd Co audits and repairs these sync duplicates as part of its Employment Hero support.
-
What does Employment Hero implementation support from Payd Co involve?
An Employment Hero implementation with Payd Co runs in six stages: discovery and solution design, system configuration and build, data migration, parallel pay runs and testing, training and go-live, then go-live support with a post go-live review. It starts with discovery, so nothing is configured until your awards, headcount and modules are scoped.
-
How long does an Employment Hero implementation take?
Most Employment Hero implementations take 4 to 8 weeks for the core payroll and HR components. Add-on modules such as recruitment and performance management are usually rolled out in a later phase. Businesses with complex award or enterprise agreement requirements, or more than 200 employees, can take longer. Payd Co confirms a timeline at the discovery stage.
-
Can you fix an Employment Hero setup that has already gone wrong?
Yes. Rescuing rushed or outdated Employment Hero setups is a large part of Payd Co's work. The usual problems are award rule sets that are incorrect or out of date, and configurations still running on old features or data flows because nobody upgraded them after go-live. Payd Co audits the existing setup first, then corrects the configuration before your next pay run.
-
Do I get a real person, or just a support ticket?
You get a dedicated human consultant at Payd Co, reachable by phone, email and video. Employment Hero's own phone support is only available on its Platinum and Employment Unlimited plans, or as a paid add-on, so on other plans support runs through Hero AI, live chat and tickets. As your Certified Partner, Payd Co gives you a named consultant from day one, with no ticket queue and no plan upgrade required. Payd Co is at Level 2, 300 Murray Street, Perth WA 6000, phone 1800 519 485, and supports Employment Hero customers across Australia.
-
Is it cheaper to use a Certified Partner than to go direct?
Often, yes. As a Certified Employment Hero Partner, Payd Co resells Employment Hero directly at exclusive wholesale rates, so the same software plus local expert implementation and support usually comes to a similar or lower overall cost than buying direct at retail. The exact cost depends on your headcount, the modules you switch on and the level of support you choose, so Payd Co quotes each business individually.
-
Do you know my award (HIGA, SCHADS, Construction, Manufacturing)?
Yes. Award interpretation is Payd Co's core strength. Payd Co builds and audits Employment Hero rule sets for the complex award industries, including the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA), the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS), the Building and Construction General On-site Award, and the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award, as well as enterprise agreements.
-
Why is my award, overtime or super not calculating correctly?
When Employment Hero calculates award pay, overtime or super incorrectly, the cause is usually a rule set or classification mismatch, not a software bug. The three most common causes are an award-free rule set, an employee on the wrong classification level, and an allowance flagged incorrectly as ordinary time earnings (OTE) for super. Payd Co runs a rule set audit and corrects the configuration before your next pay run.
-
Why was my Employment Hero STP submission rejected?
An Employment Hero Single Touch Payroll (STP) submission is most often rejected because of employee data validation errors. Every rejection carries an ATO error code that points to the cause. Payd Co reads the code, audits the underlying employee and payroll configuration, and corrects it before the next lodgement.
-
Can you move us from another payroll system to Employment Hero mid-financial year?
Yes. Payd Co migrates businesses from other payroll systems to Employment Hero mid-financial year regularly. The process maps your existing payroll data, sets up awards and pay categories, runs parallel pay runs to prove the numbers match your old system, then supports go-live. Under Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 a mid-year change of payroll software is straightforward, because year-to-date figures can be carried across so your ATO reporting continues without a restart.
-
Why does my Employment Hero always flag payroll sync errors on the Integration Issues dashboard?
Employment Hero flags payroll sync errors on the Integration Issues dashboard because the HR to payroll sync is one-way, so any mismatch is reported as an error rather than resolved automatically. The most common causes are a missing pay category (the "Pay category can't be blank" error), a deleted work type (Error 400), and mismatched employee emails between HR and payroll. Payd Co audits the dashboard, fixes the root cause in HR and re-syncs so the same error stops recurring.
-
Which platform should I update when an employee's details change: HR or Payroll?
Always update employee details in Employment Hero HR, not Payroll. HR is the designated source of truth and changes flow one way into Payroll. Edits made directly in Payroll do not flow back to HR, and they create the mismatches that fill the Integration Issues dashboard. New hires are onboarded in HR only, for the same reason.
-
Why do I have to log in twice: once to Employment Hero HR and again to Payroll?
You log in twice because Employment Hero HR and Employment Hero Payroll are technically separate platforms joined by a sync. Single sign-on (SSO) reduces the friction, but you will still see two interfaces with different layouts and permission models. Payd Co configures SSO and sets permissions so each admin only sees the platform they actually need.
-
What support do I get from Payd Co compared with going to Employment Hero direct?
With Payd Co you reach a dedicated human consultant by phone, email or video, without a ticket queue. Employment Hero's own support starts with Hero AI, then moves to live chat or a ticket, and its phone support is only available on the Platinum and Employment Unlimited plans or as a paid add-on. As a Certified Partner, Payd Co gives you a named consultant who knows your setup from day one, on any Employment Hero plan.
-
We paid for an Employment Hero implementation but modules are not switched on: what now?
Unused Employment Hero modules are common, and they can be switched on without a new implementation. Most businesses roll out payroll first to solve an urgent problem and never return to HR, onboarding, performance or learning. Payd Co runs a usage audit of your subscription (which modules you pay for, which are configured, which staff actually use), then activates the modules that give back the most admin time first.
-
What Employment Hero implementation support is available in Australia?
Employment Hero implementation support in Australia comes from two places: Employment Hero's own implementation team and self-service Onboarding Hub for customers who buy direct, or a Certified Employment Hero Partner such as Payd Co. A Certified Partner handles the hands-on work that sits outside a standard rollout: award and enterprise agreement rule sets, data migration from your old payroll system, finance integrations, parallel pay runs and staff training. Payd Co has been an Employment Hero partner since 2020 and is listed in the Employment Hero Partner Directory as a Certified Partner for payroll implementation, integrated solutions and outsourced payroll.
-
Should I use Employment Hero's own implementation team or a Certified Partner like Payd Co?
Use a Certified Partner when your payroll has award complexity, you are migrating from another system, or you want one named consultant before, during and after go-live. Payd Co runs a six-stage implementation (discovery and solution design, system configuration and build, data migration, parallel pay runs and testing, training and go-live, then go-live support) and builds award rule sets for industries such as hospitality (HIGA), community services (SCHADS), construction and manufacturing. After go-live the same consultant stays available on Basic, Consultant or Managed Payroll support terms. Because Payd Co resells Employment Hero at Certified Partner wholesale rates, the overall cost is often similar to or lower than going direct.
-
How much does Employment Hero implementation support cost?
There is no flat price for Employment Hero implementation support, because the cost depends on headcount, how many awards or agreements need configuring, whether data is migrating from another system, and which modules go live in the first phase. Payd Co scopes and quotes the implementation after the discovery stage. Ongoing support is priced per hour or as a discounted bundle on the Basic and Consultant tiers, or as a monthly Managed Payroll service. The Employment Hero software itself is priced per employee per month, with Payd Co plans ranging from self-serve to fully outsourced payroll.
-
Can Payd Co migrate our payroll from Xero, MYOB or another system to Employment Hero?
Yes. Payd Co migrates payroll from Xero, MYOB and other Australian payroll systems to Employment Hero, including mid-financial year. The migration maps employees, pay categories, leave balances and year-to-date figures into Employment Hero, sets up your awards, then runs parallel pay runs against the old system so the numbers are proven before go-live.
-
Does Employment Hero implementation support cover HR only, or payroll too?
Payd Co implements Employment Hero HR, Employment Hero Payroll, or both together, and the scope changes what the implementation involves. An HR-only rollout covers onboarding, contracts, policies, leave and performance settings. A payroll rollout adds award rule sets, pay categories, superannuation, Single Touch Payroll registration and parallel pay runs. When both are implemented, Payd Co sets HR up as the source of truth so employee data flows one way into payroll.
-
Is Payd Co an official Employment Hero implementation partner?
Yes. Payd Co is listed in the Employment Hero Partner Directory as a Certified Partner for payroll implementation, integrated solutions and outsourced payroll, and has been an Employment Hero partner since 2020. Payd Co is based in Perth at Level 2, 300 Murray Street, Perth WA 6000, phone 1800 519 485, and implements Employment Hero for businesses across Australia.
-
What support do I get after the Employment Hero implementation is finished?
After go-live, Payd Co offers three support tiers. Basic Support, priced per hour or bundled, covers troubleshooting and admin tasks such as building system templates. Consultant Support, also per hour or bundled, covers feature reviews, planning and further module deployments. Managed Payroll means Payd Co acts as your payroll team and runs pay, superannuation and end of financial year for you.
